Launched in 2016, the vision and mission of ELI (Educator and Leadership Institute) is summed up in a Haitian Creole expression; “Piti piti, ti pay pay, zwazo fe nich.”, this translates to “little by little, straw by straw, the bird builds its nest.” This is an appropriate vision for an organization that has been impacting the lives of educators in various regions across the world through professional courses and workshops, which have helped enrich the educational landscape for students in these regions, creating a positive and lasting impact.

In the spirit of global education collaboration, ELI recently concluded a triumphant mission to Nepal, marking the evolution of 7 years of dedicated work with educators in the region. ELI-Nepal, born out of this commitment, is the culmination of extensive efforts to empower educators and enhance education in Nepal.

Over the years, ELI-Nepal has transformed into a comprehensive multi-day program, with a focus on supporting the capacity of educators in global competency development, particularly in critical thinking, creativity, collaboration and communication, with an emphasis on practical application of knowledge.

Vretta has been a proud collaborator and partner of the ELI initiative for many years now, as the partnership signifies a shared dedication to fostering positive change in education globally, and ensuring that every child is provided with the opportunity to succeed in their academic lives and beyond.

After a brief hiatus due to the global pandemic, Judy Halpern, coordinator for ELI-Nepal, was able to reignite the initiative through an in-person workshop in the Spring of 2023, the result of which paved the way for the full resumption of ELI-Nepal. This included the distribution of Vretta tote bags to educators - a gesture symbolizing appreciation and support for the vital role they play in shaping the future.

A slideshow shared by Judy provides a visual testament to the impact of ELI's mission, highlighting the success of the initiative: View the slideshow here.

Vretta is proud to have played a part in this transformative initiative, contributing to ELI's mission in Nepal. We look forward to continued collaborations that transcend borders and positively impact lives through the power of education.
